Tēnā koe, my name is Krissy Hansen. I am a Mum and a Nana of 7 mokopuna and am very whānau orientated. I have grown up with Christian values and have carried this into my adult life. I have worked in the people industry for the majority of my working career. I have spent the last 16 years working for the Department of Corrections in a variety of roles from frontline to supporting frontline workers. I have been providing supervision and coaching services since 2018 as a Practice Leader for Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections). This role involved supporting Probation Officers in the community with focused individual and group supervision sessions.

I hail from the Southern Kaipara region, I whakapapa to the principal Marae in that rohe, Reweti Marae. I am passionate about supporting Māori whānau within the community, responsivity to Māori clients and Māori cultural awareness within the helping industry. I deliver both kanohi ki te kanohi (face-to-face) Cultural Supervision or online sessions via zoom if you prefer or are based outside of Tamaki Makaurau.

I have a Level 8 Post Graduate Diploma in Bicultural Supervision with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. Within this Diploma, I have designed my own model of practice to use within Kaitiaki sessions along with Mason Durie’s Te Whare Tapa Rima. My model is called Whītiki Maurea – the backbone of a whāriki that weaves people together. Whītiki Maurea is underpinned by core Māori values and principles along with those learnt and demonstrated to me as a child by my parents and my Nan. I am also a practitioner of Motivational Interviewing while incorporating Māori values and principles within my practice. I have a good understanding of the 3 Articles (Partnership, Participation, Protection) within Te Tīriti o Waitangi and how these relate to cultural responsivity.

Online or face to face

I offer professional support in a confidential setting with flexible appointment times by arrangement. I am available to meet kanohi ki te kanohi (face to face) at my home office in Papakura or I can come to your site (by prior arrangement) or we can meet over Zoom. A free initial whanaungatanga 1 hour session is offered to all new clients to see if we connect, and you would like me to guide you within Cultural Supervision.
